I just finished season 5 part 1 and oh my god!
The whole thing left me counting down to Christmas for the next part, and now I’m seriously thinking about hosting a finale watch party on New Year’s Eve.
If I’m doing that, then I want good food, fun drinks, and snacks that fit the vibe.
Stranger Things watch parties are all about comfort food, throwback treats, and simple drinks that make everyone settle in for the chaos.
So if you’re getting ready to watch the end of season 5 (like I am), or you’re watching the show for the first time, here are some ideas to pull off your own Stranger Things watch party without stressing.
Upside Down Crinkle Cookies
Make a simple red velvet cookie dough and roll each ball in powdered sugar until it’s fully coated.
Bake them so the tops crack open into that creepy Upside Down look.
Let them cool so the crinkles stay sharp and dramatic.
Dust a little extra sugar on top if you want them brighter.
Homemade Waffles
El’s favorite!
Whisk together flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and melted butter until the batter is smooth.
Cook it in a waffle iron until the edges go golden and crisp.
Serve them warm so the texture stays soft inside.
Add syrup or berries if you want something sweeter.
Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream
Scoop some ice cream into a bowl and stick part of a waffle cone inside so it looks like a ship’s sail.
Add fun toppings like sprinkles, chocolate chips, or crushed cookies.
Break up a waffle cone and tuck the pieces around the edges.
Drizzle with sauce to finish the retro vibe.
Demogorgon Pizza
Shape your pizza dough into a loose flower form so it looks like the Demogorgon opening its mouth.
Add sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings over the whole thing.
Bake until the edges get crispy and the center bubbles.
Slice along the petals to make it look even more monstrous.
Demogorgon Waffle Pizza
Make a batch of waffles (frozen is fine) and cut them into a Demogorgon flower shape.
Spread pizza sauce over the top and add cheese and mini pepperoni.
Bake until the cheese melts into the waffle grid.
Press sliced almonds along the edges to look like teeth.
Christmas Light Cupcakes
Bake your favorite cupcakes and let them cool completely.
Pipe a squiggly line of black icing across the tops for the string.
Press colorful M&Ms along the line to look like lights.
I don’t care what anybody says, Stranger Things is a Christmas tradish!
Peanut Butter Boppers
Mix peanut butter, honey, and powdered sugar until it forms a soft dough.
Roll it into small balls and chill them until they firm up.
Dip each one in melted chocolate.
Let them set on parchment so the coating stays smooth.
Upside Down Cake
Arrange cherries in the bottom of a greased pan and spoon a vanilla cake batter over the top.
Bake until the cake rises and turns golden.
Flip it onto a plate while it’s still warm so the cherries stay glossy.
Let it cool before slicing so it holds its shape.
Vecna’s Venom
Did you know that Jamie Campbell Bower (the guy who plays Vecna), uses his real voice for the villain?
I totally thought it was some sort of effect but nope, it’s all him!
Anyway, to make this drink just muddle blackberries and raspberries in a glass until they break down.
Add cranberry juice and stir so the color turns dark and moody.
Fill the glass with ice.
Top it with a little sparkling water if you want fizz.
Upside Down Cocktail
Shake tequila, triple sec, lime, and lemon juice with simple syrup until it’s cold.
Add mashed blackberries and a splash of tart cherry extract for the color.
Strain it into a glass and swirl in a pinch of edible pearl dust.
Garnish with a berry on the rim.
The Eleven
Shake whiskey, orange juice, maple syrup, and egg whites until it gets frothy.
Add a couple drops of bitters before you strain it.
Pour it into a chilled glass so the top stays foamy.
Finish with half a mini waffle on the rim of the glass.
Hawkins Highball
Mix vodka, creme de menthe, lime juice, and lemonade in a tall glass.
Stir it well so the mint blends into the citrus.
Fill the glass with ice.
Add a lime slice on top for a little color.
Ready for a Stranger Things Watch Party?
Honestly, you don’t have to go all out with themed food.
Just pick a couple of dishes and a drink and fill in the rest with chips and dips or other snacks.
And enjoy the end of this amazing show!
